The Child Within.

It's time to meet the child inside,
Time to reveal the tears you cried.
To reach back and face you're every fear,
That traps your mind from seeing clear

Time to give that child some way
To understand the price you pay
From keeping anger and the pain
Away from all you should regain

Time to say you weren't at fault
For all the things that you were taught
By reckless words and beatings too
That others made you think was you.

The child should have a voice once more
To chase the demons out the door.
To stand and say with greatest pride,
I took enough you're cast aside.

They may have failed you as a child
But now the failures on their side.
They are trapped by their own sin
The child inside is locked within.

Forgive their failing if you can
You'll be a better person than
The people that destroyed your trust
You'll leave them standing in their dust.

It's time to let the child within
Reach out now and to begin
To set aside the darkest past,
Embrace the child that's free at last.
