Will it be me this time around
In the teeth of the cunning hound
I mean them no harm
Just want to be safe and warm
To them its just a game
The riders just claimimg their fame
Quick once again their on my trail
I think of my cubs so alone and frail
Oh please, oh please, let me find my lair
My cubs all safe from the hounds out there
Alas they have picked up my odour
I fear my life will soon be over
Here they are, they take their first bite
I fight the pain, with all of my might
I feel my death approaching at last
But please you hounds make it fast
My thoughts are of my cubs so dear
Because I Know these hound will be here next year
