"Taran, there is no reason for you to apologize. I just wish everyone would give me a break occasionally"
Taran extended his hand and said "friends" Leuan tried to laugh but his face began to swell he reached out and took Taran's hand.
Once everything was settled and the drama died down. Haaris tied the shaman to a chair before he woke up. Tania took out her flask, poured some water out onto a piece of fabric, and dabbed it on Leuan's swollen face. He looked like a plum all red and puffy. Leuan flinched when the cool water hit his face. Tania gazed at him "I am sorry Taran punched you"
He looked back at her "I am sorry for calling you stupid. It was in heat of the moment"
"It's ok, you were right. If Haaris did not stop me and you did not take the enchantments off.I would be dead and possiby Haaris too. I endangered both our lives beacuse of curiosity"
"It's not your fault. I'd probably done the same thing"
"No you wouldn't. You would have seen it as a danger and left"
"Well it's in the past. Were it should be" the elf whimperd at the fabric being put to his bruised skin again.
"Ok Leuan, hold this here. It should help the swelling go down" Taran came in with the group's bags full of food and filled the flasks up. He looked over to the unconscious old man "What about him do we just leave him?"
"Yes.He has powerful magic he can get out when he awakes and we should leave"
"Should we leave him a note saying we took some of his food and drink?"
"I don't think that would help, let's just leave and find the seers and go to the Darklands".
They all packed up, rushed out and left the swamp within half an hour. They travelled fast and kept an eye out for trouble, luckily they found none. Leuan and Taran were quiet and did not speak about what had happened. They pretended it did not happen, however Leuan's bruised face reminded him that even Taran had his limit and once he crosses it, then all bets are off. Friend or foe he would resort to violence quicker than a dragon trampling and roasting a village. It made him rethink his whole attitude to life; maybe he should be more serious and act more responsible for the sake of the group or if not that then to prove to them that he was capable and to show them he deserves to be here just as much as them.
The silence made Tania uneasy she hated awkward silences. She kept her eyes to the floor and avoided eye contact with Leuan or Taran. Even though the confrontation was in the past, it was unsettling to see brother and friend fight. They were friends and not just that but brothers in arms and they would so easily fight each other over petty things. Leuan had the right to be annoyed and angry tthat a man tried to kill him, but he was making too much noise and would have attracted the wrong sort of attention from the creatures of the forest. Taran had to shut him up before something worse could have happened but he did not have to resort to socking him across the face. She thought on this for a while and paced to Haaris' side, he raised an eyebrow at her. She smiled in return and ignored the questioning look.
"So your brother and Leuan had a disagreement" Haaris whispered
"Yes if that is what you wish to call it" she sighed
"Your brother has always had a temper. Has he not?"
"He has his moments but no he doesn't have an anger problem if that is what you're asking. He did the right thing, however he chose the wrong wat to go about it"
"I wasn't asking anything and yes he could have restrained him instead of causing a scene. You are right, if he had not stopped him from shouting. We'd be dead for sure"
"Well as they said it's all in the past now"
"Even though it happened just under an hour and half agon at any rate we need to find the seers . We should camp at the next hill up ahead, and then move at dawn."
"How do you do it?"
"Do what?"
"Lead everyone. I mean i have seen you make tough decisions that impact on other people's lives"
"It's not that hard. You get your orders and follow those orders. If there are decisions to be made, you just think which is the right and just course of action"
"And what if there isn't a right choice?"
"Then you choose the one with fewer consequences"
"I would never be able to lead someone let alone a group"
"Sure you can. You have something most leader's lack"
"And what's that?"
"Heart" Haaris smiled and marched forward towards the hill. Taran walked beside her.
"What did Haaris say to you?"
"Nothing of importance"
"Really"
"Yep"
"Oh and its really awkward walking with Leuan at back so i am gonna stay here"
"What do you expect; you punched him in the face? she lashed out and ran after Haaris.
