The rain man

the day i die
it will rain upon the world
flowers will droop their risen heads
and look away in silence
the day i die
people will speak my words of wisdom
those who listen will bow their heads
in shaded honour
the day i die
they will sing a great melody
in my memory
or so i thought
as they walk away in silence
from my shallow grave
