Life Changes

Come with me and hide away from everything
I've found this place, down the back of my garden where nobody
goes.
Where the grass grows long and flowers wild
I've seen the rabbits hiding there,
maybe they are hiding from their worries too.
Running free across the glistening dewy meadow, we are ourselves out
here.
No one to tell us who we must be, how we must act.
Society's pressures are a distant memory.
A canopy of branches falls over your head, wrapping you up.
Sheltering you from everything, the harsh wind, reality, life.
It doesn't tell you that you are not good enough, or whats wrong and
whats right.
There are no judgements and are no expectations.
You are free to run, to scream to cry.
Come with me to the end of my garden.
Were now stands a housing estate.
The grass lost, now runs in parallel, neatly for each house
Wild flowers were crushed years past and the rabbits long dead.
Children run there now locked up in gardens like cages.
Here society is, competitions for the newest car and lastest fashions
flood back.
The trees stand as fences, picketed in rows.
There will be no shelter from the reality anymore. Judgement and
expectations remain.
I sit, I scream and I cry.
