You don't need money to be rich

People can be rich even if they have no money.
If you have a loving family and friends, your days will be sunny.
Just one year ago I was rich because I had my mother.
She and I were both rich because we had each other.
My cousins have loving families, that makes them rich indeed.
They don't require money to be rich, love is all that they need.
Some people worship the almighty dollar, I think that's pretty rash.
If you have loved ones, you're rich without having a lot of cash.

So true, and nicely put.
So true, and nicely put.
But friends and extended families can be riches aswell, and those we reach out to, and God's riches for the soul even during our earthly days of trouble are far better than the dollar riches! So despite your great loss, I hope you can still taste some happiness this Christmas time, remembering why the Saviour came.

I agree. When people talk of
I agree. When people talk of 'retail therapy' I truly do not get it! Shopping for stuff and more stuff would make me physically and mentally ill.
What matters is to me is that I have enough money for everyday living and a bit extra for treats and holidays. I also like to have people in my life when I need them and time to myself when I need 'me time' (this has become much easier now that my children are grown up and independent). And writing and music and getting outdoors mean a lot to me.
Wishing you a very happy New Year Elsie
