Going for Gold.
Doreen is dressed, top to toe, in Versace,
Expecting to lure young and innocent Archie.
She skilfully weaves an elaborate web,
And poor, young, Lord Archie falls into her trap.
She stuns him with dazzling display of her charms,
He’s totally lost in her long, strangling, arms.
He’s utterly sold, wants to make her his lady;
What does he care, that her past may be shady?
At this stage, his mother gets into the act.
She wants this relationship thoroughly wrecked.
Why doesn’t he bring his young lady to tea?
Poor Archie considers this splendid idea.
But when he collects her; spiked heels, lacy dress,
He knows it will end in a muddy big mess.
Hasn’t he told her, he lives on a farm?
She’d better wear Wellies, or she’ll come to harm …
But she ain’t gonna change, ‘First impressions are vital.’
She’s been working too hard to get hold of his title.
When Archie pulls up, it is pouring with rain.
The yard is all mud, and she’s hoping in vain,
That he will park the car near the heavy front door,
But it is the large kitchen, that he’s heading for.
A quick look in the mirror, adjusting cream lace,
She gets out of the car and falls flat on her face.
His mother’s warm smile nearly reaches her ears,
This wonderful sight has erased all her fears.
She knows her son Archie is back in the fold,
He’ll marry a nice girl, not someone so bold.
