THAT’S SNOT FOR EATING.

I thought mum said ‘that’s snot for eating’ when I picked it from my nose.
I’d thought about it often and seen others eat their crows.
I’d been asking ’what’s for dinner?’ while my finger had a fish.
As mum turned I hooked the bogey, popped it in my mouth to grant her wish.

She screamed ‘what are you doing? Just do as you are told’.
That’s not a staple diet for any ten year old.
She said ‘You never listen’ as she chased me to the door.
So I hocked back up the groby and spat it on the floor.

She smacked me around the ear hole, calling me a dirty lad.
I said ‘You shouldn’t hit me, for eating bogeys like my dad’
Today I learnt a lesson, one of life’s hard facts
If you’ve trouble with your hearing, leave the crows and eat your wax.
