66 Books Make One: One Message – Hope

[Continuing the hymn-for-Sundays series]

From Genesis to Revelation,
one great message, one great theme:
Who God is, and our condition –
plan amazing to redeem.

Also there is some foretelling –
of the exile and return,
of Messiah, coming, dwelling,
but many would the Saviour spurn.

As you read it – do you? – don’t you
find its message true today?
Mankind’s needs the same, for none do
live a perfect kindly way.

So right through there is a message –
hope and help found oft before.
If you read, but find some passage
difficult – then read some more!

Persevere, and ask for insight –
other parts will clarify..
Answers pertinent to life’s plight
God has chosen to supply!
