Gabriel came to Zechariah
–at last they’d have a son
who’d be the one that Malachi said
would herald Christ to come,
prepare the people for their Saviour
– John called, ‘Repent, and seek God’s favour’.

Gabriel came and spoke to Mary:
God’s Son formed in her womb
– His Spirit’s power conception caused
– God as a baby born.
With Him, nothing’s impossible:
all was fulfilled – how wonderful!

Appearing in a dream to Joseph,
an angel said, ‘Don’t fear.
This child Mary’s expecting now,
his people’s sins will bear.
So name him, Jesus.’ Elizabeth’s boy
while in the womb leapt up in joy!
