Hark! the herald angels sing –
with astonishment they bring
news stupendous to the earth –
thus announce th’amazing birth
of a Saviour promised long:
what a theme for joyful song –
all mankind had need of grace,
holy God they all must face.
    Hark! the herald angels sing
    – news of saving grace they bring.

Veiled in flesh the Godhead seen –
come to teach and to redeem,
growing up as Joseph’s son,
then a teacher – everyone
was impressed at what they heard –
teaching wise, instructive Word,
and his miracles, powerful, kind
feeding, healing deaf and blind.
    Hark! the herald angels sing
    – news of saving grace they bring.

Came from glory so that he
would live life here perfectly,
knew that men would execute –
thus became a substitute
for those knowing they deserved
God’s right judgement to be served
on us all, but in his grace    
sent his Son to take our place

thank you, Nolan. the '77 77 77 77 77 ' is the metre tune you need, ie there are 10 lines of 7 syllables each. The tune is the same as to the carol 'Hark the herald angels sing!'. It's often thought of as 8 lines with the chorus repeating the last two lines of the tune.
