So listless, drowsy, haggard, grey:
a diagnosis gave a ray
of hope – for this predicament
there was a known medicament:
an antidote, or mineral
to build a needed chemical.
With warming skin-tone, brightening eyes,
we see her from her bed arise,
spring back to life – ‘What can I do?
I’ve surging energy anew,
blank diary ahead – what should
I now endeavour to do, for good?’

Hi Rhiannon
Hi Rhiannon
I like this little poem. It reminds me of our dog who was listless, although only 2 years old, and when the vet tested her blood, it turned out she had a lack of thyroid. So upon receiving her first pill, she arose from her sickbed and ran around in circles chasing her tail. A small miracle.
