I am the Mommy
I must stand straight and tall
Even when pushed down the stairs
I am the mommy
I must dry children's tears
Even while hiding my own inside
I am the mommy
I must hold, rock and sing
Even while silently hurting
I am the mommy
I must be strong for them
Even when I feel like I can't go on
I am the mommy
I must give encouragement
Even when I feel I have failed
I am the mommy
I must smile and laugh
Even when my heart is breaking
I am the mommy
I must provide and care for
Even when I feel totally alone
I am the mommy
I must be whimsical yet, stern
Even when I don't feel like caring
I am the mommy
You know me well
I'm also the wife
Who's put through hell
