The Sea

THE SEA
A crashing boom,
sweet deafening sound.
Urge and surge,
set free and bound.
An endless swell,
A creaming wake.
The sea shall give,
the sea shall take.
Ancient Mariner,
spin thy rime.
Tell Mother Earth,
tell Father Time.
Shout out above
deafening crash.
The sea shall smooth,
the sea shall smash.
Sail, sail away
on oceans calm.
With hand on sail,
tiller under arm.
Catch thy fish
while calmness holds.
The seas relax,
the sea controls.
Widow, widow
spread your word.
So young a woman
should be heard.
A husbands' living,
now a young mans' tomb.
The sea's the grave
and the sea's the womb.
So lest you all
should e'er forget.
And fancy chance
with boat and net.
When water lies still
then a lie you will make.
The sea shall give
but the sea will take.
