Terrible Two
My name is Max and it's a fact I'm a big boy for my age
If things go wrong I scream and cry and fly into a rage.
I know I really shouldn't; but it's that time of life you see,
Things will get better when; some say if, I reach the age of
three.
I'm at that early stage where learning is so much fun,
But Mummy and Daddy still, have to change my bum.
They say that the time will arrive; it comes from out the blue,
I will reach the age that's called "Terrible Twos."
Now is the time I want to do things all on my very own
With encouragement they even let me answer the ringing phone.
They've also taught me how to change that lovely video game,
But if things start to go wrong who will get the blame.
My mum helps me up the stairs supporting with her hand,
But I'm a big boy now, let go! I'm no longer in my pram.
I know I am still a little lad with lots of time to grow,
But I get so impatient when things seem to go too slow.
I know everyone's been there; it's the way we advance
I don't see why parents make such a song and dance.
It's Nature's way of helping us to learn and to survive,
So come on Mum and Dad, its time I to learned to drive.
