Rain beats

Rain beats incessantly, 

October here before September begun. 

A flood of feeling,

Like Summer. Gone. 

Trees creating lines like broken glass

Across grey skies.

A leaf lies, not like

The weather forecast. 

We sit inside and listen,

The sound so constant 

It becomes silence. 

The violence of thunder

Making you jump,

Coffee spilt.
