(1) The elephant

The elephant's a wierd thing, as evolution goes,
A creature that, instead of hands, has one enormous nose,
An evolutionary quirk so useful, one supposes,
The wierdest thing is we don't all have trunks instead of noses.

Your verse construction is good for children's enjoyment (by the way you have a typo in the subtitle, spelling of elephant!), but it sounds like a good argument against macro-evolution to me! http://www.abctales.com/story/rhiannonw/elephant-s-trunk for a view of it being a picture of amazing design.
