grizzled soul

Little girl, I hope you can love me but I doubt you can understand.
I've got holes in my aura, scars on my soul. I've been the orangutang,
alone in the crowd, the wolf, howling at the moon, a ragged pair of
claws, scuttling across the ocean floor. I've poisoned my body and
damaged my brain. I've swapped love for hate and learned the value of a
one night stand. I've looked in through the window; I've slept in the
rain. I've had a number, a wristband and raged at the bars. I've bourne
my crosses, taken my losses, and walked away with a few chips. So hold,
love me... but please don't judge me.
