To Leave the World Unseen

Oh, to leave the world unseen
wild, undefined, unknown
except for a few small cities
roads and forests
(simple trees rooted in tradition)
unconnected to the world vast,
with its endless future and endless past
with questions everywhere
about what is possible, what is right,
what brings happiness, what brings greatness
The world today is like heaven
after the death of God:
anarchy is everywhere
mitigated only by the denyers
who drink chocolat on golden thrones
And though I take a beaker, no a liter,
of the warm red south
I still see with eyes that think
until the edges grow soft
and consciousness burns
with the blaze of insanity
Oh, to find some forgotten forest green
to somehow re-enter Eden's elysium
and leave the world unseen
