WE THE "PSYCHOS"

We, the "psychos"
think you're talking about us

We are perhaps,
a little divided,
but united in the sense
that we're hurt
by constantly being dragged in
to every political controversy,
and having every ill of nature and society
laid at our door-step

We are the psychos,
people who suffer from "psychosis"
severe or mild
occasional or perpetual,
who have the humility to admit the problem
and seek help
for everyone's benefit and protection

We are tired of being mocked
and used as TV boogey-men

We want our paintings back,
(with our ear)
We want our poems,
our many popular songs, and important inventions
back from society...
so we can take them
and go live in a separate Psych-u-topia

Or maybe people in this world
who are lucky enough
not to suffer from mental illness,
could just show a little more respect

We "psychos" have feelings, too
