Prayer for my Wife

Prayer for my Wife
She lights her candles,
Tonight it’s vanilla.
The fragrance rises
and the walls perspire,
awaiting her entrance,
for her being to meet the shower.
Only I,
Gifted beyond measure,
Have ever been allowed to see,
Rivulets fall,
Glide,
Slide,
Meander,
Over the thin layer,
That protects the miracle she is within.
I’ve heard her told:
Toughen up,
Get a thicker skin;
but she can’t.
A single nick,
from a razor blade,
proves she is fine.
Fine, fine.
Finely able to host:
Feed,
Grow,
Life,
Love.
Out of nowhere,
I begin to suffocate.
Incomprehension has struck
And a vision stuck
On the sick sick beings who rape
Women’s incredible landscape.
I keep going with my pass-by,
To kneel in a room nearby
the gift of the preciousness of my wife.
I bow my head and pray,
A prayer of Faith,
Trust,
Gratitude,
That God will keep her safe,
When I can’t;
That my God who created her
Will only let her know love.
Lord, protect our Women:
Your Miracles.
Thank-You Father,
Amen.
