She Dances Like Fire

She dances like fire
Flames like licking lips accentuating curves against black
Her flesh moist, her chest heaving, hair tangled and knotted
She swings it like wild wind, rhythm be her gravity
Jungle beats pour loudly out of second rate speakers
Assailing all with vibrations as feet pound the pavement
Rain begins to fall cooling the night
Steam rises off the street like freed spirits
She burns hotter still
I watch this flickering flame as she weaves patterns in night
Her eyes never open, they search inwardly
For what I don't know, nor will I ever
All I can do is watch and feel the warmth of her radiant heat
Her movements tell a tale of woe
She's been burned, her heart has been charred
Her essence like so much wood stored within her pyre soul
Endlessly she burns and that is why,
She dances like fire
