A Friend
The old woman set at her window, and stared out into space
How she wished someone would stop by her place
In a distance she could see a face
The figured moved slow
The old woman saw it glow
Closer, closer it moved near
The old woman yelled out is that you dear
She told the figure I am so lonely, and blue
May I go with you
Her heart beat faster, and faster
He said I am your master
I come from above
I just stopped in to tell you
How much you're loved
The tears formed in her eyes, and she blinked
The figure turned slightly, and he winked
With me he said humbly you will never be alone
In a flash he was gone
She choked back the tears
The old woman thought, he has taken away all my fears
Thank-you Dear Jesus for being my friend
I give you the honor, and the praise for taken me.... with-in
