Ecclesiastes

What when why and how
Always questions to be answered
They seem somehow pointless now
Left blowing in the wind.
Time ebbs by without noticing the high tide drowning yesterday
Even monotony noticed that, between his stifled yawns.
The sun has already closed his eyes and kissed the day goodbye
The moon has yet to make up his lazy mind
To rise and shine or stay in bed tonight.
Let the wind blow, let it blow
It'll all be forgotten by tomorrow.
What when why and how
Always questions to be answered
They seem somehow pointless now
Left blowing in the wind.
My toil is on the boil for the needs of the day
Sweat turns his bead-like eyes upward to the sun.
All the work is done with restless hands to fulfil all my plans
Yet what use it all when chaos can't make up his mind
Weighing up on all the possible designs.
Let the wind blow, let it blow
It'll all be forgotten by tomorrow.
What when why and how
Always questions to be answered
They seem somehow pointless now
Left blowing in the wind.
And then there's you and your beauty
Your eternal secrets hidden in the distance
I can't tell whether wisdom is coming closer, or walks away
But I do see her colour fill the sky
I don't want to be without you, as I am.
Let the wind blow, let it blow
You'll all forget me by tomorrow.
What when why and how
Always questions to be answered
They seem somehow pointless now
Left blowing in the wind.
