A Doubt

I visit all of the places
That we ever went,
Just to try to find a piece of you there.
I'm planning all of the letters
That I'll never write,
To try to find the answer.
And there is no doubt,
That without you,
I am a shattered piece of glass in the windscreen of your car.
But at least thats where you are.
I can work all of the hours
That we have been sent,
But my mind is focussed on one thing.
I am walking past the bars
That we used to frequent,
Hoping just to hear you laughter.
And there is no doubt,
That without you,
I'm just a cloud without a storm,
I'm a cutter on the sea with no wind in my sails until that boat
sails,
And brings you back to me.
And the seals seem
To call out your name.
And the birds fly
In your direction again.
I wish they would take me.
But I doubt if they would.
Even if they could.
