GREENWORLD
They say it's true, or so they say,
That everyone is green today
That they worry about world pollution,
And desperately seek the one solution.
Governments say they're green right through,
But there's really nothing they can do,
About the dying trees, the acid rain,
The toxic waste poured down the drain.
What of the fumes that fill our skies?
Or the exhaust emissions that sting our eyes?
The smog that hangs over London's streets?
The sewerage that swirls around our feet!
They wring their hands in fake despair
And cast their eyes into the air
Proclaiming that they'll do their best.
But, like all people living in the west.
They appease the business men and industry,
Hiding behind double talk and hypocrisy.
Promising sweeping changes by an unknown date,
While in the real world, it's already far too late.
But, money talks loudest in oak panelled halls,
Air conditioned rooms with lead lined walls,
Ensure the rich never face the shrivelled seed,
Their motto isn't Green, it's greed!
