Prayer

Grandfather, Spirit of our ancestors,
You put your children here,
To walk the soft earth for a short time.
So they might learn to love,
The things you created,
And learn to love one another.
Grandfather, you gave us children,
To share that love,
To spread happiness to all faces,
No matter what colour.
Though they speak in many tongues,
They all speak the universal language.
Grandfather, Great Mysterious One,
You gave some of your children,
An extra gift, an energy and love,
Of life, beyond all bounds.
So they might light our lives.
Keep your son safe by your side,
So he might watch down on us,
And guide our feet on the long journey,
That leads us back to you.
