A Determined Tree
A different day but it's the same-old me,
Another day with a bigger smile,
I finally found the lost happiness key,
It makes it all worth the while,
I become all cheerful again,
Life is as sweet as sugar-cane,
I smile at my image in the mirror,
and feel more confident,
If I only knew to my horror,
What all this happiness meant!
I should've known it was too good to be real,
I should've known it all; how betrayed I feel,
Life wants to knock me down,
Collapse me, or make me drown,
But a strong tree clenches with might to the soil,
Mighty winds blow as if they were a breeze,
To a determined tree, that's not a toil,
No wind can ever make that tree sieze,
No wind can stop growing new leaves..
