Down by the river she
would meet him
and watch him fishing
and as she sat down her
skirt would blow in the breeze
and she would feel free
such a hot day when he
done fishing there
they would walk hand
in hand along it banks
a innocent that's lost
today
long hot sunny days
without a care in the
world
they look into each
other eyes
she stop and gave him a
kiss on the cheek
he did not know what to
say
when she did that
she ran away
then he saw her one day
and ask her
why did she run away
after the kiss on his
cheek
she just smile and then
she walk away
and the days turn into
nights
years flow by like the
river running by
they run into each
other now and again and say hi
oh how time fly' s
one day he was by the
river
and walking along
as the sun shore
he saw the girl who
gave him a kiss
but she was in a mist
all white and beautiful
then she was gone
he went running after
her
he was not going to let
her go
so he went to her home
he knock on the door
like so many times
before
but stood before him
was her mother with
tears in her eyes
she said she had died
he fell to his kneels
and said I never knew
she was ill
and he wept like a baby
at night
her mother said son it
the strangest thing
she woke this morning
and told me with a
smile on her face
that she love you
and was going down to
river to meet you
and tell you she love
you
but then she sat down
and close her eyes
and then she was gone
and then I knew she
came to find him to say goodbye
to him and this life
Down by the river she
would meet him
and watch him fishing
and as she sat down her
skirt would blow in the breeze
and she would feel free
