A Leap of Faith
You asked me to leave him
And promised a future
So warm and fun
Passionate and fast.
Reading together, just reading
Aloud with laughter
In silence, but communicating.
Thigh against trembling thigh, arms brushing arms.
And loving, really loving.
So great!
So she took a leap of faith
So great, so immense
On behalf of herself
And others.
'You faithless bitch,' he yelled
'Did you just look at that waiter?'
'I just told him the food was great.'
'You great fucking liar. You were eyeing him up.'
The Restaurant turned around as the table was turned
Upside down.
Two little plums looked up, all melancholy
As he left her to foot the bill.
Great!
