Who am I

Who are you, I'm often asked
And might be asked of you
Am I judged on what I say
Or what I think and do
Or am I judged on how I look
My hair, or curve of cheek
Or I am what I seek to be
Or what others think to seek
Or could it be my talent that
I set upon the stage
Or maybe it is what I feel
Joy, Sorrow, Rage
Then am I the things I say?
The more "colourful" words and phrases
Or the ones from Oxfords Unabridged
Or from the latest fades and crazes
Am I the Glorious Flame of Fame
As others tend to see
But I think I am what I think I am
Not what others think of me
So in the end it matters not
What I and others think
When said and done the deeds of life
Vanish in a blink
Because in the end it's those I've loved
And all the kindness shown
I am what I do for others
That's how I know I've grown
