Lucifer are you watching?

As night the master taps its claws across my skin,
In her own tears, the small child is floating,
At the bottom of the bed, the storm is still raging,
To the top of the room, she spirals upwards,
She turns to watch as the lights illuminate her face.

Lucifer is watching with an ominous stare,
She cries out and help her I cannot
Up here I've constructed my own lavish space-ship,
Can I be the pilo,t to do as I please?

In her own tears, the small child is drowning,
Could I save her from the clutches of darkness,
But I fear time has run out,
Show me the door into my body,
The tears are torrential, the bed is still trembling.

Under the covers I glide, where it's warm
And my friends are waiting,
I now feel safe,
Their whispers are soothing,
They dance and twinkle like faraway stars
I have ribbons and flowers as they lull me to sleep.

But they cannot protect from the dreams that torment me,
I wake again screaming, afraid of the darkness,
Lucifer is watching and waiting to seize me.
