B) Diary Entry 2

I have had a strange day. This morning I went out to meet some friends,
but when I came back to my house about 4.30, no-one was there. This is
strange because my mum is almost always home, she hardly ever goes
out.
The door was locked and I didn't have my key so I had to go in through
the bathroom window at the back of the house, because it is really old
and you can lift the catch bit up if you pull the frame up then towards
you sharply.
So I climbed in through the bathroom window and looked around. My mum
and little brother Soran were gone, and so was dad but that's not
strange because he isn't always around.
Then the phone started ringing. It was my mum, calling from a phone
box. She said she's going to granma's for a few days with Soran. I
asked what I was supposed to do alone for a few days, and she said my
uncle Navid was coming to stay and look after me.
I waited for about three hours before Navid turned up. Navid is really
great, he is only three years older than me. He took me out to Pizza
Hut and then to the cinema. We didn't get home until about midnight, it
was a lot of fun.
I don't know why mum didn't tell me she was going away though. I
couldn't have gone, obviously, because I still have two exams to do,
but I would have liked to have been told.
I feel a bit odd about it. I don't know whether she is going to come
back or not because when her and dad argue sometimes she says that
she's going to leave him, but he always said she wouldn't have the
guts.
What if she doesn't come back?
I'd go to granma's I suppose. Or phone her and ask her what was going
on. She never tells me what's going on, no-one ever does. I never know
anything. No-one even told me I was going to have a little brother
until two months before he was born. They just didn't mention it, and I
didn't guess because mum always wears baggy clothes and she's quite big
anyway.
It's going to be okay if Navid stays though, he's always fun.
I suppose that's all for today.
