Dazzling Dace
Dace are popular fish in England and Wales but it is not very common in
Scotland. It has not long been found in Ireland. Dace are mostly found
in rivers and they are rarely found in ponds and lakes.
The dace is a graceful fish with silver flanks. Dace generally have a
brown or green coloured back. Also the fins are brown or green. The
lower fins are often white or grey and sometimes they have a hint of
yellow or pink. It has a small mouth and a small head and they have
yellow eyes.
