When will she wake again?
Not yet I hope.
Except for a tick, a tremble, a sigh.
For I like to watch the slats of ever softer light
Edge up her body
As the tiring sun descends.
Egyptian-Black hair lays gently on her face.
Egyptians worshiped cats.
Ha! A sleeping cat.
Don't wake her.
Even the dog snores softly.
When she wakes we’ll kiss and laugh again.
But not yet.
Not just yet.
