Thin Walls Part Three.

The young family who lives opposite our home, I was just about to go to bed this morning at 2am, I’d already had my customary nap on the sofa while watching the television, when my Husband Paul who always has a cigarette at the front door, called me to come to him.
There on the frosty cold path, outside my front door was the young Mum shivering and crying, she was in thin pyjamas, with nothing at all on her feet! I asked her to, “Come inside, as you’ve got nothing on your feet,” Still crying and shaking she looked at her wide-open front door. Paul said, “Call the police!” I asked her, “Do you want me to call the police?” Looking again towards her home, she said, still in shock, “I’m fearful for my Kids,” Paul repeated again, “Call the police,” So I dialled 999.
He, her Husband was coming and going from the wide-open front door, shouting at the top of his voice and swearing, I could see his neighbour looking through the upstairs window, everyone could hear him, his neighbours both sides and all of us opposite his house! It was like he was crazy!!!! The poor Children upstairs!
The police wanted my address I told them, they wanted their house number I told them, they asked for my name I gave it, I said, “Can you hear them?” He said, “No,” I said, calmly and quietly, “Please hurry, there are little kids at risk” He said, “They are on their way,” The Wife went back into her home and he came to the front door and saw Paul and I still on our front step, he went back in and we heard her scream, it was very LOUD I said, to Paul, “Do NOT go in there! He said, “I won’t,” Then the Husband came to the still wide-open door and yelled, “YOU’VE CALLED THE POLICE, SEE IF I CARE!” And went back inside, this time shutting the front door behind him.
I too went inside, Paul soon came to me to inform me, “The police have arrived,” I went out the front to have a look, opening the front door I could see the car and their door shut. Five minutes later I went outside again, and they were gone! I couldn’t believe it! What was the point?
So, it took the police five minutes to arrive and then left after five minutes! But now both their names were in the police system! I then went to bed, but Paul still stayed awake downstairs, he said, to me, “She kept coming to the front door and looking out as if she was expecting someone to pick her up…”
When I texted my Daughter Meghan this morning to tell her all that had happened, she said, “They left SO soon?” I replied, “Yes they call it a Domestic, she has to die before they will do anything!” Meghan also said, “Oh no, now he knows it was you who rang the police, I hope he doesn’t do anything to our home,” I said, “That’s why I wouldn’t call the police before, no one will, but I only did it last nigh as Paul asked me to.”
There was no sign of them this morning, so I don’t know if the young kids made it to school or nursery.

That poor woman. I think you did the right thing calling the police - hopefully someone will follow it up.
