Forever devoted

When I first saw you I knew
That it was a person just like you
That I wanted to know very well,
So I'd later have a story to tell
To my grandchildren by the fireplace
About the first time I saw your face.
As time trickled on by
(When you're having fun, doesn't it fly?)
I somehow knew that I would,
Just never knew if I should,
Fall in love with you.
I loved you &; still do.
I fell hard that day
What can I say?
You looked into my eyes
I had no drugs, but I was high,
Drunk on your honey-sweet love
You were like an answer from above.
I knew deep in my heart
That when we were forced to part
That I'd hate it like hell
I knew I'd miss you, I could tell
I just never imagined how much,
How much I'd miss your touch.
It seems impossible for anyone
To have let that be done&;#8230;
To part us like that
When it happened I sat
Down and cried true tears
Over all those cherished memorable years.
Why did you leave me?
All alone, did you mean to deceive me?
You said you cared
And yet, then you dared
To drift away from this life
And cause me all this grief.
Yet someday I know
In a place, pure white as snow
We'll be together again.
On a never-ending train
Running on tracks enforced with true love
All your devotion was never enough.
