She Looks At The Bottle

She looks at the bottle;
She knows that it is wrong.
She knows that this will be
yesterdays empty tomorrow.
But still she'll try to drown her sorrows,
numb the pain,
erase the guilt.
At least until the sobriety
of the morning
brings it all flooding back,
she is drowning
in the waves of her emotions.
