In the absence of light,
There is darkness,
Such a comfortable thought,
I sit in the dark,
I live in the dark,
Light rarely intrudes.
I love the rain
And the storm clouds,
The way they block out the sun,
I love the way they sooth me,
When I'm not feeling to good,
They rule my life and my world,
I could not go without.
Light scares me so harshly,
The roots of why are too hidden,
The scars on my wrists,
That once ran deep,
Will only show in the light,
That's why in shadows,
I hide,
Confidence dead,
And I'm alone.
My soul is now more rested,
Than it was before,
I am much less tormented,
But my soul can rest no more.
