2 person tag games – Limbo Tag and Pillar Tag (Plus: Square-ball and THE DRAW PREVENTION SCORING SYSTEM)
Limbo Tag –
- A horizontal bar, like a limbo dancing bar, is placed atop two vertical bars.
- The two players stand on opposite sides of the limbo bar.
- The object of the game is for them to try to tag each other without knocking down the limbo bar or being tagged.
Pillar Tag –
- In pillar tag two players stand on opposite sides of a round pillar.
- The object of this game is for the players to try to tag each other three times and avoid being tagged by moving round about the pillar.
Square ball –
1. Square ball is a game for two teams of 4.
2. One team forms a square.
3. The other team splits in two and two of its members stand inside the square formed by the opposing team with a ball while other two stand outside the square.
4. The aim of the game is for the two team members inside the square to get the ball to one of their team mates outside the square.
5. Each time the team members inside manage to get the ball to those outside, it is called a ‘Breach’ and every breach scores that team a point (see 7.)
6. If a ball goes outside the square and is not caught then that scores no point.
7. The Draw Prevention Scoring System: Square ball has an unusual scoring system that prevents a draw from ever occurring. The team that forms the square begins with 3 points. Each time there is a breach, one of their points goes to the other team. A draw cannot occur because the score can only be 3-0; 2-1; 1-2 or 0-3. There are two rounds, and in the second round the teams switch roles, however, this does not result in a draw because, in the second round, the teams begin with the score of the first round and the team that lost points in the first round just tries to win them back so that the score in the second round is just an adjustment of the score from the first round. For example, if the score in the first round was 3-0 and the team that lost in the first round scores a point in the second round then the score is adjusted to from 3-0 to 2-1.
