1.
There was a castle by the sea;
a castle made of sand
and there lived Princess Fiddly-dee;
the fairest in the land.
2.
But then, one day, a witch thought she’d
kidnap the fair princess
and so, out of some old seaweed,
she wove a magic dress.
3.
Then she knocked on the castle door,
her seaweed dress, to sell
and the princess, when she put it on,
fell under the witch’s spell.
Chorus:
But the sea-shell knight came riding
across the sandy shore
to save the Princess Fiddly-dee
who the young knight adored.
4.
And he rode upon a donkey
with a pair of golden wings
his armour made of cockleshells;
ribbons and shiny things.
5.
And he battled with a monster crab
who had two gigantic claws
but then, with his spear, the crab, he jabbed
and the monster moved no more.
6.
Then the wicked witch, she turned with fright
and, into the sea, she fled
and then the handsome seashell knight
and the fair princess were wed.
Chorus:
Yes, the seashell knight came riding
across the sandy shore.
He saved the princess Fiddly-dee
and they were wed forever more.
