Daddy Plays the Banjo (Children’s Song)

1.

Daddy plays the banjo;

he plays it all day long;

he plays his little boy and girl

a happy banjo song.

And when their daddy starts to strum;

his kids dance all around;

while mummy bangs upon her drum;

it’s such a happy sound.

Daddy plays the banjo;

he strums upon its strings;

his little son and daughter love

the happy songs he sings.

And when their daddy plays a tune;

his children all join in;

his daughter blows on a bassoon;

his son plays violin.

Daddy plays the banjo

all morning, noon and night;

because his banjo playing

gives the people such delight.

He plays it at the local school

while teacher bangs the drum

and all the School kids think it’s cool

when they hear Daddy strum.

Daddy plays the banjo

and teaches kids to play

all of the kids hope they grow up

to play like him some day.

And when his children start to cry

his banjo makes them bright;

he even plays a lullaby

to help them sleep at night.
