I hear that in the Autumn
wee fairy folk come out.
Though I have never caught them,
of it I have no doubt.
wee fairy folk come out.
Though I have never caught them,
of it I have no doubt.
They call themselves the Tumlings
for Autumn is their home.
Running, skipping and tumbling
through Autumn woods, they roam.
for Autumn is their home.
Running, skipping and tumbling
through Autumn woods, they roam.
They don't have wings for flying
but fly on golden brown
fall leaves that they find lying
upon the Autumn ground.
but fly on golden brown
fall leaves that they find lying
upon the Autumn ground.
Through skies of late October
they fly high just for fun
and grey clouds, they leap over,
chasing the Autumn sun.
they fly high just for fun
and grey clouds, they leap over,
chasing the Autumn sun.
And when fruit starts to ripen
upon the Apple tree
they play their Tumling pipes and
dance around merrily.
upon the Apple tree
they play their Tumling pipes and
dance around merrily.
They have a Tumling party;
bang on their toadstool drums,
enjoy life and be hearty
until the Winter comes.
bang on their toadstool drums,
enjoy life and be hearty
until the Winter comes.
