The end seems near but still I hold on,
I can’t take the thoughts that come with such a state
Your trust was mine, mine to abuse,
I took my chances, I came out fine
But the truth catches all men,
And it strikes harder than the lie.
Many months will pass; my heart will shrink and grow,
Sounds of your voice will ring in my ears unchanged
Emotions and memories of things we done
Situation seems different now,
What once was love, now seems like it was just a bit of fun
The solitude of myself, as I try to take hold,
But it seemed easier to be under orders,
I miss you.

Is this a confession? First stanza is great but the last three lines are the cherry on the cake, for me.
Think you put this really well.
