Covid 19- Running Out of Castard and Mustard

Dear Readers,
We went through my birthday, my husband's birthday and Easter in quarantine. We bit our tongues and remained philisophical all throughout these events. "Oh well, next year we shall have a party, a very big one at that to celebrate!" I reasoned. My kids got fewer chocolate eggs this year that too had a positive spin on; less tooth decay. We had pork instead of lamb for Easter Lunch; just four of us no extended family! Next year, we will have lamb and the extended famly.
But wait this morning I broke into cold sweat as I opened the cupboard and realised that we are out of Custard and Mustard which we only recently bought. How could this happen? "Never in my adult life we run out of such items", I yelled as my son read Kensuka's Kingdom to me; a tale of a twelve year old boy lost in the mist of the sea; a child without parents!
My son looked bewildered as he continued reading about the "impenatrable water!" and despair of the lost child.
Have I lost my mind? I thought for a fleeting second and wiped off the sweat off my brow!
No custard or mustard tonight! Homeschooling doesn't leave much time for me to source such luxuries! In time I will be philisophical about this catastophe but not now!

I enjoyed this snapshot of life during the lockdown. I especially like the way you describe the good side of all the downsides! A good attitude to have!
