Plato's Cave

He was born in the Cave!
His folks were expelled
Soon
After his birth
As was the order
Of the day!
Bundled in a woolen
Blanket
The chosen one.
He was fed goat's milk
For months to come.
Kafkaesque nightmare
Was born out of this cave;
Plato's abyss
Dark, damp and dingy.
Still this was an experiment
Like no other
He was the chosen one.
So there was a fire on the
Other side of the door
A cave within a cave
And various shadows
Of men and women
Carrying items
Over their heads.
The ten year old:
Boy wonder said
The shadows were the real
Beings
To the professor;
Making mental notes.
The boy knew no other.
It was black as hell
In Plato's cave.
The professor was smuggled
In the night
When the boy was fast asleep.
So Plato is right
The professor nodded
The shadowy reality
Was the only reality for
The small boy.
He was released in the world outside
Soon after.
Blinded by the white light.
His shadowy reality was
No longer a reality
For him.
He was duped.
So he was angry.
He raked his revenge
Soon.
Blew the whistle
On the cruel
Scientists
Of the underground.
