Triumph of Hope
&;#65279;I am reminded of how precious life is and the tragedy of it
being cut short. "But in all things God
works for the good of those who love Him." It is up to us Christians to
show to world a loving
God who never forsakes us during this time of national mourning. We as
Christians have no fear
of death knowing our crown is in heaven, however, the world in its
despair cringes at the thought
of perishing as a result of its sin. They in turn shake their fist at
God and wonder how He could
let this happen. Who are we to judge the mysterious ways of God, the
creator and Sustainer of
the universe. Can a child say to its mother "Why are you my Mother?"
No, that question is absurd
knowing that the child is born of her womb. Just so, we Christians are
born of the God's spirit
and not of this world. Therein lies the difference between Christians
and non Christians. We as
Christians do not ask the absurd question but rather have faith that
God is God and that He is in
control of His creation. The non Christian refusing to look into the
mirror of its soul sees evil in
the world and wonders how and why it happened. A Christian looks into
the mirror of its soul
and sees a wretched sinner who desperately needs God's forgiveness.
These heinous acts remind
humankind of the depths of it horridness. This horridness causes fear,
a fear that results from
feeling helpless resulting from being unable to control one's
surrounding. "Yet, we also rejoice in
our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance;
perseverance, character;
and character, hope. And hope does not disappoint us, because God has
poured out His love into
our hearts by the Holy Spirit, whom he has given us." Therefore we are
refreshed with a renewed
spirit as we come together bounded by mourning, suffering, sympathy,
and hope. And this hope
in Christ and His promises triumphs over all that is evil in this
world.
