Beareved Planetary Earth

Hard to contemplate but it came to pass
Exceptional tragedy befalls the planet earth
A planetary mission turns mad just at the gate
Exacerbated joy is surely tearful as is tragic.
The mission unmistakably noble to man
Undertaken by seven flowery human souls
A sacrificial resolve transcending all fears
No meaningful life devoid of scientific knowledge.
Advancing scientific knowledge deep inside
So that planetary creatures can be anomaly free
Nothing deters their mission on this fateful day
They majestically jostled into Columbia saucer.
Disheartening it is as it painfully hurts our veins
That now, the flowery souls walk into past annals
Now referred to as "human remains" of doom
This day is cerebrally indelible in generations eternal.
When human mechanical parts come raining from the skies
Choreographed by debris of the doomed orbiter, Columbia
The planetary earth goes mute in sheer disbelief, not again!
They touched our hearts deep as high the stars they reached.

This poem is dedicated to the recent tragic event of the shuttle,
Columbia.
