Chapter 4
Zeke
I circled around back, and when I saw the other two enter the living room with Jerry I sat outside the window and listened in.
“You mean she’s missing!?!” I heard Jerry’s voice ask in shock. I smelled the fear on him and knew he wasn’t lying. He really didn’t know where she was, but I would confirm it later with Will.
“We thought you had something to do with it. But apparently you don’t so we’ll be moving on now…” I heard Hazel answer back. They started to get up, but then I felt Jerry’s heart pace kick up three times faster. Willow nudged Hazel and she sat back down, “What aren’t you telling us? If you don’t tell us, I will kill you now.”
Jerry gulped and said, “Well, you see… I asked a favor from this man from the other realm…”I snorted angrily, this wasn’t going to end well, “And well, he wanted payment. He gave me three days to pay him back and I accidentally missed the shipment.” Sure he did. Probably didn’t want to pay the demon anything.
Willow snarled angrily and said, “Then?”
“Well, umm… Let’s say he showed up at my house the next night and he said that for my ignorance I would pay dearly. He said he would take what I care most about. Well, at the time I didn’t know what he meant and when I noticed nothing was missing I thought the worst was over. But now Fae is gone! You’ve got to find her and bring her back.”
I heard the anguish in his voice and I knew that he still loved Fae. Great, this was just what we needed. I heard Hazel stand up and Willow follow her. Apparently they had nothing else to say. Jerry slumped against his chair and sighed with anguish and pain.
I heard the front door open and I ran back in front to meet them, “So what d’ya think about all that?”
Willow sighed and said, “Well, now we’ve got to find this guy, and I can tell that Jerry had no idea who he was. I think I have a hunch, but I’ll need more info. Let me go talk to some old friends.”
Hazel nodded and she ran off into the forest at an invisible speed. Hazel looked at me and said, “She’s probably in the other realm right now. I need to start making a concoction so we can get in there. Why don’t you go to the store and pick up every herb that’s there. And I don’t mean the grocery store either.”
“I know what store. I’m not stupid.” I headed down the street as Hazel went back into the car to go home. I felt sorry for Hazel because Fae and she have been friends for as long as I can remember. I really hoped we could find Fae, ‘cause if we didn’t this next century was going to be a long one.

Fae
The master vamp drove up a drive way it the middle of the woods and I figured that we would be arriving at his manor soon. I sighed angrily. I could see no way out of this. When someone was bought in this realm, a special bond between them magically occurred binding them until the spell was broken. Unfortunately I was no good at spells.
He stopped in front of the house, pulled me out of the back and dragged me into the manor. He kept leading me until we reached a bathroom. He opened the door and said, “Now clean up and make yourself presentable. I’ll have someone drop some clothes off in a moment.”
He undid my chains and I wringed my aching wrists. He closed and locked the door on me so all I could do was go and take the shower I really needed. A half hour later, someone had placed some clothes in the bathroom. I was startled at first, because I hadn’t heard anyone come in, and then I remembered that Vampires could be silent when moving.
The clothes turned out to be a frilly waitress’s dress that was very skimpy. Great. I sighed heavily and put it on. It was almost too small. If my other clothes weren’t rags I would’ve worn those. I also had a pair of black stilettos. I was really gonna be able to walk with those on. I sighed again as I put them on.
I stumbled a couple of times before I reached the door and I tested the knob, still locked. I sighed and knocked, “Hello? I’m done now. Can I please come out?”
I heard a vamp chuckle and open the door. It was a buff looking guard and he looked me up and down with a smirk on his face, “You forgot the hat.” I looked back into the room and noticed the hat lying on the windowsill twenty feet away. I groaned as I walked as gracefully as possible to go and grab the hat. I stumbled and fell not even a foot away from the sill. I grabbed it for balance and stopped my face from smashing into the floor. I heard the vampire laugh and I grabbed the hat and shove it on my head. I walked slowly out of the room and the vamp grabbed my arm to keep me from falling down the stairs. I was angry, my pride ripped up into pieces, but I was grateful for the help. We reached the bottom of the stairs and he led me into the dining room.
I sighed again. I could possibly have been dressed like this so I would be more attractive when the master vampire ate. I walked grudgingly into the room and saw a huge feast of animals on the table. I almost barfed when I noticed that they were still alive and were being drained before my eyes. I cringed as the servant vamp dragged me to the far end of the table where the master vamp sat. I paled slightly and he laughed at me openly. Other vamps looked around and saw me, and they laughed too. I blushed this time and tried to get to my feet, which was hard since the vamp was going faster than human pace.
I almost fell over again and gave up on that, so as not to embarrass myself even more. We reached the master vamp and the other vamp let go of me, unfortunately causing me to go crashing into the master vamp’s lap. I tried to hastily get up but the vampire just rearranged me so that I was sitting in his lap with a stronghold around my waist. I hated vampire super strength.
He started to talk, “Well everyone, as you can see, this is the newest addition to our family, Ms. …?” He looked at me.
“Fae.” I barely uttered.
“Ms. Fae, everyone.” They all looked smugly at me and I cringed. I saw another vamp look up at us and he said, “My lord, excellent choice.” I cringed again.
The master vamp smiled and said, “Oh no Luke, She’s going to be of service for a little while anyways…” I sighed. I would live for the time being. A little while to a vampire meant at least a year. A year to which I could plan my escape. He patted my shoulder and said, “Would you like something to eat? You looked starved my pet.”
I cringed, and shook my head, but the thought of having food caused my stomach to betray me and grumble. The master vampire laughed and snapped his fingers. Another servant brought in some pancakes and some orange juice. I looked hungrily at them, but I didn’t trust them. Unfortunately, I didn’t get the choice of eating them or not because the master vamp shoved a forkful into my mouth. I coughed almost choking and glared at him.
“I can feed myself, I’m not a cripple.” I said angrily.
“So the pet can defend herself. Good. But to me, all humans are crippled.” The master vamp smiled at me.
I glared, but ate the pancakes out of spite. They tasted fine, but most drugs were tasteless anyways. When I finished the master vamp hastily lifted me to my feet and said, “I shall show you around the place so you can get the feel of it.” He started to walk out of the room and I walked out with him. This could be a good time to find good escape routes. He led me around the first floor and then he started to walk up the stairs. I cringed internally and followed after him, a firm hand on the railing.
To my luck though, a rag was on one of the steps and I slipped on it falling backwards. A firm hand grabbed one of my flailing arms and pulled me up, saving me from a long fall down the stairs. But unfortunately, the master vamp decided that I wasn’t safe walking on my own and decided to carry me from then on. I just pouted and glared in his arms, but that was all I could really do.
When he finally finished showing me around the house, he decided to let me outside. He set me on my feet but held onto my hand. I saw an open field in front of me and a forest at my left. Then to my great hope, a river at my right. I decided to try and escape with no witnesses. I had outrun a vampire before and I could easily do it now. Without my heals anyways.
