The Joy of Being Misunderstood

Such a comfort being misunderstood
and not feeling the need to care.
With stones in the heart eroded
over time, there are only branches
where emotions once hung when
events of life really seemed to matter.
Fate’s played its game out. Only clinging
shrapnel and a fading pain remain
leaving a strange sense of security in the
knowledge nothing hurts anymore.

An interesting point of view
An interesting point of view which suggests there is much unspoken between these careful lines.
